All project activities (except project management) are carried by professionals - subcontractors. Those can be Companies, Institutions, International Consultants and National Consultants. The rules for selection of sub-contractors and contracting are set by the UNOPS, the executing agency. Following these rules, most of the sub-contractors are selected through a tendering procedure. The following project components will be subject of tenders: Agriculture, Wetlands, Industry, Detergents, Monitoring and lab and info management, etc. Companies, institutions and individual consultants are invited to submit their profiles and contact information to the project management in order to be considered for shortlisting. For more information about the project components please read the content of 'Activities'. SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME |
|
The project is also reinforcing participation of NGOs in the project activities. This is through the Small Grants Programme, that is subcontracted to the Regional Environmental Centre (REC). The Small Grants Programme is actually an umbrella of small sized projects local projects or regional projects, that are prepared and implemented by different Danube NGOs. Through its network the REC is facilitating the preparation and selection of the projects. The 1st phase Small Grants Programme projects are now under implementation (58 National and 5 regional projects). The next Call for Proposals is scheduled for 2005. For more information, please see Danube Regional Project Grants at the REC web site. |
